Tell us about your business

We rent baby equipment. No clothes or toys, but the kit you need for a short period of time that costs a fortune and then they grow out of it! Think next to me cots, buggies, carriers, bouncers, pumps - you name it. We deliver all over the UK and our rentals are grouped into travel rentals (for 2 weeks), monthly rentals and bundles.

What made you want to start your own business?

My two boys. Having them showed me that the model we had (buy new) was broken and there had to be a better way to equip for our children. Rental was my solution.

How do you manage the juggle of running your business around being a mum?

No two shakes about it - it's hard! The boys are in after school club, but there are many hours around this that I have to juggle for now in the building stages. I don't have guilt about working as I think it shows them a good role model and I'm very clear that they are my reason for working so we have more options for our future. But things are about to get much busier, so holding on for that.

 What’s one thing you’ve learned in your business that you wish you’d known sooner? 

Tricky one. I think accepting that you learn as you go and that things take time.

What’s your go-to Founder Mum life hack that saves you time or sanity? 

When I use socials I don't fret about the perfection or what people think, as I mostly think no one is watching!

What are your core values when it comes to your business?

Honesty. Kindness. Support. Community.

 Why did you join the Founder Mums Club? 

Building a business solo is great - but having a community of others doing it with you (as there are many common threads to business no matter your expertise) is fantastic.

What do you love about being a member of the Founder Mums Club? 

The community! Sharing. The care and kindness from others.

What has been your biggest lesson and what's your advice for other Founder Mums?  

It is twice as hard, takes twice as long but it'll be twice as rewarding for it.
