Tell us about your business
My business is content writing and copywriting. So that's writing for website copy, marketing material, social media, blog articles and so much more.
What made you want to start your own business?
I've always loved writing and the power to connect and make those all-important connections and communications, from the written words. A creative background yet I know the impact and importance of words. So now I help businesses or individuals craft the best combination of wording that best reflects and fully sounds like their business' tone of voice. Ensuring they're recognised for whatever they're trying to convey, capture, nurture or navigate their words into, whether that's website copy, communications, marketing, socials or so much more. Words have such a power to connect.
How do you manage the juggle of running your business around being a mum?
I'd say I aim for a happy-medium. There's no hard and fast rules to getting a "balance", other than to do what you can; prioritise what's right and best for you, your family, and your business! Calibrate and recalibrate on that whenever you need to! Oh and above all surround yourself with positive, encouraging, helpful, kind and caring people along the way.
What’s one thing you’ve learned in your business that you wish you’d known sooner?
Trust your value, and be confident in decision making.
What’s your go-to Founder Mum life hack that saves you time or sanity?
Time blocking and list making (in life and business!).
What are your core values when it comes to your business?
Creative, authentic, purposeful and tenacity are my strongest four main core values. It means everything to me I've had those embedded mostly from day one. They're my non negotiables and at the very heart of my business.
Why did you join the Founder Mums Club?
I mainly joined for broadening my network of mums in business. It's such a wholesome membership. I went with my gut instinct it has proved so right for me. It's so important to have mutual respect as a fellow founder mum. Because let's face it, running a business and being a mum is pretty much theeee strongest, hardest, most challenging yet rewarding combination of multi-tasking. And sometimes, you just need to lean on others who "just know" how challenging or empowering it can be (on any level).
What do you love about being a member of the Founder Mums Club?
Ahhh. Absolutely everything!! I've met some absolutely awe inspiring founder mums and connections have been built instantly. I love the variety and the encouragement. I love the community and the resources and opportunities.
What has been your biggest lesson and what's your advice for other Founder Mums?
If you're struggling and only have the capacity to do so much, say, 40% on any given day for any task; when you give that effort /capability /capacity for what you can manage then you're still achieving 100% because that equates to what you were capable of. (I hope that makes sense!)
