Meet Isida, Founder of Pashmisy
Jan 28, 2025Tell us about your business
I am the founder of Pashmisy, an online store specialised in providing Made in Italy scarves (silk, cashmere, wool). We are committed to slow fashion. We place a strong emphasis on respecting the environment by utilising eco-friendly production processes that are gentle on nature.
What made you want to start your own business?
I love any type of scarves and it has been my passion since I was a child. It all started back in 2016 when I moved to London and realised couldn’t find high-quality scarves that didn’t cost a fortune. Despite my passion for beautiful, timeless accessories, life had other plans. I began a career in interior design, got married, and became a mother of two boys, but last year, while juggling family life and the challenges of returning to work, I rediscovered my passion for scarves. It felt like the perfect time to turn my dream into reality. I began reaching out to suppliers, meeting them, requesting samples, and carefully curating each design.
Tell us about your kids?
I have 2 kids, 2 boys - 5 and 3 years old.
How do you manage the juggle of running your business around being a mum?
It is hard, because when you run a business you think about it all the time, but on the other hand you can have more freedom in managing the kids and you do not need to ask someone to give you time off cause one of your kid is off sick.
What have been the high points of your business journey so far?
Partnering with Wolf and Badger marketplace. Selling via their marketplace is quite hard as you need to comply with their rules, as they are specialised in providing sustainable goods, so you need to prove that your products are sustainable. So, yes we had to prove this and our suppliers have obtained many certificates to confirming tour sustainability.
What has been or is the biggest challenge in your journey as a Founder so far?
My biggest challenge is the marketing, social media which have been changing so much since Covid, it is more challenging and not having a marketing background I had to struggle.
Are you interested in collaborating with other Founder Mums?
Yes, any type of business which can be a good match with Pashmisy. It can be good a beauty salon, flower shop, interior designs, coffees etc...
What are your core values when it comes to your business?
Making the right decisions and finding the right people who can help you, advise you.
What marketing tactics have worked best for you?
Instagram has helped us in getting more visibility and brand awareness.
What are your future goals for your business?
Our aim is to grow our brand in the UK market and Internationally as we have just started to ship to US, Europe, Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore. This is our aim for the upcoming 12 months.
And finally, what has been the biggest lesson for you since you started your business and what's your best bit of advice for other Founder Mums?
